  • Incredible to see how much we’ve achieved together as a PTFA and as a school community - thank you to everyone who has supported the PTFA over this past year.

  • Lots of progress with Grow With It project (The raised beds, St Francis garden, murals)

  • Funded a range of experiences for children - Bristol Old Vic Christmas performance, author visits, valuable workshops, class resources, and more.

  • Outstanding totals for Summer and Christmas fair  -both raising an impressive  £16,843!

  • Events for adults too, including a quiz night and a festive Christmas craft event.

  • Getting closer to a turning vision of a natural playground into reality.

  • A huge thank you for all your support! Committee, sub groups, class reps, parent volunteers, those supporting at home to enable people to volunteer.

6) Election of committee members

Note - we are a registered charity so all the elected committee members have a duty to ensure that the association (charity) acts lawfully and is managed properly.

[Whilst Trustees have a legal duty it is important to remember that all decisions should be made collectively by the committee. No one individual should take sole responsibility for a committee decision or activity.]

Decision making - need majority vote at a meeting.

PTFA constitution

We need to vote in this constitution:

We have been using this one for several years -clear on our website and realised it needs updating on Charity Commission website so needs  a vote. Once agreed we can do the admin to change it over]

Parentkind constitution 2021 must be adopted before we can use it.

2021 (no difference with June 2003);The object of the association (the objects) is to advance the education of pupils in the school in particular by: 2.1 Developing effective relationships between the staff, parents and others associated with the school 2.2 Engaging in activities or providing facilities or equipment which support the school and advance the education of the pupils.

Some differences between this and the old one. The number we need present at an AGM and the recommended number of committee members (3 officers and 10 members with old one and no restriction with the newer one)

The constitution was passed and - Action - KM and HA to ensure registered with Charity Commission.
